Leon “Skip” Johnson, Chapter Commander

The local Chapter of the Korean War Veterans continues to carry on their normal activities during these tough days when we all have to face so many new issues regarding our current economy, as well as all the problems erupting around the world these days that create a state of uneasiness for all. Our main goals are to remain focused on those in need, namely because of unexpected emergencies or hardships, whether short or long term, where we can react rather quickly in supplying a variety of medical equipment that may help with some mobility needs or more. The local Chapter has storage facilities where a well-maintained supply of equipment is readily available and just a phone call away. The number to call is listed below.

Meetings for the Korean War Veterans are held monthly on the fourth Wednesday of the month at the IHOP restaurant located off Arizona Avenue within the Target Shopping Center. The next scheduled meeting at this time is planned for April 27 at 10:30 a.m. In addition to their other normal activities in supporting the community, several of the club members get together for lunch at 2 p.m. on each Tuesday, barring other conflicts. All veterans are always welcome; however, it is suggested that if you are planning on attending for the first time, that you call Chapter Commander Skip as a courtesy for the restaurant management, as, on occasion, the crowd can get rather large.

For additional information regarding medical equipment, the club in general, or the lunches, feel free to call the chapter commander at 970-481-3005. He will be happy to answer any questions you may have or pass you on to another officer who may be better versed on a specific topic that may be of interest to you.
