The R Countryman Chapter of the Korean War/Korea Service Veterans will meet on Tuesday, January 27 in the Friendship Room of the Sun Lakes Country Club at 10:00 a.m. Our guest speaker will be Elaine Poker Yount from Visiting Angels East Valley.
Elaine is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has worked with seniors for the past 24 years. In her current position as Community Liaison with Visiting Angels, Elaine provides community outreach and education. She has developed the Resource Source program to help families find the available resources within the greater Phoenix community to help as they navigate the aging process.
Elaine will outline some of the many services available that most people are not even aware exist, as well as identify the key/crucial factors in understanding when it is time to get a little help or make a change in your current situation. There will be several handouts including a home safety checklist, how to get up from the floor if you fall down, to name a few.
The aging process is always a little easier knowing you have support of family, friends and the community so please don’t miss this!
A special thank you goes out to our November 2014 speakers from the Sun Lakes Community Assistance Program for introducing us to the medical flash drive!
All guests are welcome and you can check us out on our website at www.kwvacc.org or contact Commander Doyle Porter at 602-540-7574.
Remember, “Freedom is not free.”
