The R Countryman Chapter of the Korean War/Korea Service Veterans will meet on Tuesday, March 28, in the Friendship Room of the Sun Lakes Country Club at 10:00 a.m. KWVA is proud to welcome back Elaine Poker-Yount, Community Liaison from Visiting Angels, columnist for the Arizona Republic and a Certified Dementia Practitioner.
Elaine will present and take questions on “Staying Safely at Home and Transitioning to Assisted Living if Necessary.” All of us have both that hope and desire that we will get to age gracefully at home. But what if staying at home is no longer possible? Elaine will discuss how we will know if we need assistance, what signs we need to pay attention to and what we can do to stay independent as long as possible, as well as discussing the different options available.
The aging process is always easier and less stressful when you understand the options, make a plan for success and share that information with family and friends. Join us so that you won’t be stuck in an emergency without the information you need for successfully moving forward.
The Countryman Chapter of Sun Lakes wants to thank January guest speaker Anda Vranjes for giving us incredible insight to one of the largest and most daring rescue missions of World War II – Operation Halyard. Many of our veterans can’t wait to read your book, Betrayed Valor, to learn more!
All Veterans and their guests are welcome. You can learn more about us on our website at www.kwvacc.org or contact Leon Johnson, Commander, at 970-481-3005.
And remember, “Freedom is not free.”
