The R Countryman Chapter of the Korean War/Korea Service Veterans will meet on Tuesday, January 24 in the Friendship Room of the Sun Lakes Country Club at 10:00 a.m. KWVA is proud to welcome Anda Vranjes. Mrs. Vranjes is Vice President and Bank Manager for BMO Harris Bank in Gilbert and is also the author of Betrayed Valor. Based on actual events and one of the best kept secrets of US history, Betrayed Valor tells the story of one of the largest and most daring rescue missions of World War II, Operation Halyard. We hope you will join us listen to some of the information and amazing stories Anda has uncovered through her countless hours of research!

On behalf of the Countryman Chapter of Sun Lakes, Mr. Tucker, Ms. Sweet, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Mr. Dill and Mr. Johnson were proud to be part of welcoming PFC Daniel Hunt, a Korean veteran killed in Korea in 1950, home and to be present at his burial at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in December. It was an honor to welcome such an amazing veteran home after more than 65 years.

All veterans and their guests are welcome. You can learn more about us on our website at www.kwvacc.org or contact Jay Sanderson, Commander, at 480-895-2950.

And remember, “Freedom is  NOT free.”
