Tired of hearing about tariffs that affect everyone? Prefer learning about building an economy that works for everyone? If you answered yes to both questions, then attend the Sun Lakes Democratic Club’s (SLDC) June 9 meeting and meet one of the key people involved in educating working class voters about candidates who share that same economic goal.
Jacob George, executive director of Unity Rising USA/AZ, will share the organization’s philosophies and explain how social issues are intertwined with economic prosperity. George, a familiar face to SLDC members, has worked on numerous Democratic campaigns and currently sits on the Balsz Elementary School Board.
Joining the list of speakers for the evening is Chandler City Council member Matt Orlando who is running for the open seat for Mayor in the 2026 election. Orlando, a veteran with a career in the defense and aerospace industry, has helped make Chandler one of the best places to live in the East Valley.
Attendees at the June 9 meeting will also receive an update from a Chandler Unified School District board member on issues currently before the District, as well as a legislative review if the legislature is still in session.
SLDC is made up of like-minded individuals who are part of more than 2,500 registered Democrats throughout the Sun Lakes area promoting an Arizona that works for everyone. We invite you to join us at 6:30 p.m. for a social hour, with the meeting starting at 7 p.m. on Monday, June 9, in the Navajo Room at Sun Lakes Country Club at 25601 E. Sun Lakes Blvd N, Sun Lakes.
We also invite you to join us at 10 a.m. for our First Friday Coffee the first Friday of every month at Denny’s located at 4977 S. Arizona Avenue in Chandler.
We support Matthew’s Crossing Food Bank. Donations can be dropped off at the meeting or made online at matthewscrossing.org. You can receive a receipt for the dollar-for-dollar, tax-deductible donation.
