What’s more exciting? Current dancers coming back after our Christmas break? Dancers coming back that left in the spring? New dancers joining our group? Answer: It’s a “three-way tie”!
If you are not registered for the January 8 restart, you have until January 27 to register for Ultra Basics by calling 480-802-0201 after 10:00 a.m. if you can commit to at least three months of classes. UB classes are on Mondays in the SunBird Ballroom at 11:30 a.m. for $2. This class is for new dancers with easy dances that prepare you to move to a different level, if capable. You also have the opportunity to attend a monthly Free Steps and Patterns Class offered to all the dancers. Not taking new students after January 27 gives those who have been dancing with me since September and this month an opportunity to “grow” in Line Dancing.
People who choose to dance with me are taught what you are doing with your feet. Consistent words are used when learning and reviewing dances. You will find that “learning and not following” not only makes dancing more fun, but I’ve had dancers tell me, “I don’t misplace my keys like I used to.” Line Dancing makes you “focus and think” which carries over into everyday life “stuff” plus giving you a great way to exercise both your mind and body. This is an activity where you don’t need a partner, but couples have found it’s a fun way to dance.
Great music you will recognize is played with different genres of songs, i.e., Cha chas, rhumbas, mambos, swing/boogies, waltzes, 2-step, West Coast, blues. Different categories of songs are used, i.e., Latin, pop, country, gospel, with beats that fit the dances taught. Come join us and escape this “crazy world.” God Bless Line Dancing!
