Five local non-profit organizations, Dignity Health Foundation, East Valley Adult Resources, Hospice of the Valley, Neighbors Who Care, Inc, and Outreach Program for Ahwatukee Seniors, will share in a donation of $40,000 from the Home Instead Senior Care® office serving the Southeast Valley. The donation will be used to fund various resources aimed at supporting local older adults.

During a ceremony held May 16, Dignity Health Foundation, Hospice of the Valley and Neighbors Who Care, Inc. were each presented with a $10,000 donation, while East Valley Adult Resources and YMCA Outreach Program for Ahwatukee Seniors each received a $5,000.

The organizations are benefiting from a corporate award presented to the Home Instead Senior Care Mesa office, part of an international franchise chain that provides companionship and home care to older adults.

Mesa Home Instead Senior Care Owner, Mahnaz Pourian, received the award at the Home Instead Senior Care international convention in Omaha, Nebraska. Pourian was among only seven franchise offices to earn the exclusive Founder’s Award based on monthly production and outstanding service to their clients.

Home Instead Senior Care provides a variety of home care and companionship services to area seniors that keep them safe in their homes including Alzheimer’s and personal care, as well as meal preparation, medication reminders, bathing, grooming, dressing, doctor appointments and a personalized plan of service.

“We chose each of these wonderful organizations to be recipients of this gift because of the wonderful work they are doing for seniors in our area,” Pourian said. “We have a similar focus, mission and commitment to caring for older adults.”
