Kc Coller, Publicity Director
When it’s cold, dark and after 6:00 p.m. with your tummy full, going out to a meeting doesn’t seem essential. Probably it isn’t unless you’re a volunteer – that makes you more motivated.
Something to try, should you not already be a club member, is attending a Computer Booters general meeting. All are invited. Meetings are held the first Tuesday of the month from September through May at 7:00 p.m. in the Navajo Room at the Sun Lakes Clubhouse, 25601 Sun Lakes Blvd, Sun Lakes, AZ.
It’s nice to get out and meet with an array of neighbors and friends who also broke out of their homes to gather more/new information about using their computers. It’s one way to get more for your buck after making a computer investment.
The general meetings offer many tried and true great speakers on a spectrum of topics followed by questions and answers. There is also updating of news concerning computing, announcements of classes offered for that month and finally the drawings for door prizes.
It’s a friendly, fun and informative hour-plus. Enough time to perhaps excite a new brain interest, solve a longtime computer question or perk excitement for a new hobby. This might happen at just a general meeting which you may attend as a guest.
Being a member allows the advantages of attending free special classes like Turbo Tax, Photoshop, Excel, Computer Care, Genealogy, Windows 10, Word and many more. Other things that come with membership are club reminders, the club’s newsletter and the chance to visit our website for class notes and other announcements.
This is a club that is active because of the volunteers that believe in this club’s purpose and they enjoy the process.
