Doug Ross, Associate Pastor, Sun Lakes Community Church
In the normal wear and tear of life, we forget an appointment – forget someone’s name – or we lose our way on a freeway. That is normal! What isn’t so normal is if this pattern increases. It starts to happen again and again throughout the day. We become even more and more forgetful. Various situations such as a head injury, or as in my case, a nearly forgotten birth defect, dementia can occur. What is dementia? Think of that word as a description – symptom of many neurological problems – that can include diseases such as Huntington’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease and others.
Sun Lakes Community Church is bringing Dr. Stephen Flitman, noted neurologist, back for a second i.e. event on Memory Loss. Dr. Flitman specializes in these diseases – and from personal experience, I know of no doctor who is more skilled at diagnosis – medication evaluation – ongoing treatment – always treating his patients professionally, yet in an empathetic way.
Dr. Stephen Flitman is a neurologist in Phoenix, Arizona, and is affiliated with St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center. He received his medical degree from Albany Medical College and has been in practice for nearly 30 years. He is one of 65 doctors at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center who specialize in Neurology. His specialties include Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Bell’s Palsy, Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy, Epilepsy and Hemorrhagic Stroke.
Regularly, Sun Lakes Community Church has been presenting these i.e. (Informational Events) with two purposes: 1. Each event seeks to address issues of importance facing our community of Seniors, and 2. We want these events to alert you to the various ways our church can minister in your life.
This i.e. Memory Loss Event will take place Saturday, March 16, 2019, 9:00 a.m. to noon in the Navajo Room of the Sun Lakes Country Club.
The event is FREE, but pre-registration is required. Call our church office and we will send you the Very Big Ticket FREE – or you may pick up one of the tickets at our Sunday morning Worship Service any Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m.
Please pre-register soon. Due to the popularity of his previous visit, we could reach capacity quickly.
