Tuesday, May 9, at 1:00 p.m. – Artist on the Fly: Sketching Birds

Join Neil Rizos to learn new ways to see the beauty and behavior of birds while learning essential techniques needed to draw birds quickly and accurately, in the classroom and in the field. Limited to 15 attendees. Registration required.

Monday, May 15, at 1:00 p.m. – Pinterest Party: Origami Flowers

Join us for our monthly adult craft club from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on the third Monday of every month. This month, we are celebrating Mother’s Day and making origami flowers. Come chat, craft and get creative! Registration required.

Tuesday, May 16, at 1:00 p.m. – Felix Sainz: Bossa Nova Guitar*

Accomplished guitarist Felix Sainz presents an incredible performance of Bossa Nova-inspired music. A must for guitar enthusiasts!

Thursday, May 18, at 1:00 p.m. – PHX ART presents: Asian Art*

Be inspired by great art by joining us for a lecture series presented by Phoenix Art Museum docents. In May, docent Michael Smith presents Chinese Landscape Art, from its earliest beginnings to the Ming Dynasty. Sponsored by the Sun Lakes Friends of the Library.

Monday, May 22, at 1:00 p.m. – Unwind at Adult Coloring Time*

Feel free to bring a snack, socialize and relax! Although you are welcome to bring your own colored pencils or markers, all supplies are provided. Program limited to 40 attendees.

Wednesday, May 24, at 1:00 p.m. – A Great Catastrophe: WWII in a Nutshell*

How did World War II start and evolve into a global conflict that consumed over 60 million lives in six years of desperate fighting on land, sea and in the air?

Thursday, May 25, at 10:30 a.m. – Crafty Kids’ Club: April Showers Bring May Flowers

Join us at our craft club for kids from 10:30-11:30 a.m. on the fourth Thursday of each month. This month, we will make beautiful flowers using paper and paint. Crafts are age appropriate for ages 3-6, but all ages are welcomed. Let’s tap into our right-brain and get the creativity flowing! Registration required, and begins on May 11. Limited to 15 attendees.

*On the day of the program, please come by the library customer service desk for a free ticket, limit two per person. Please park in the church parking lot next to the library.
