Medicare open enrollment ends December 7, 2014

Before December 7, 2014 find out what your options are if you wish to change your health insurance plan or drug plan for 2015. If your drugs have changed, or if your provider has changed their formularies, our dedicated volunteer counselors specially trained by the Area Agency on Aging’s Benefits Assistance Program are available to help you determine which plan is best for you for 2015.

The volunteer counselors also provide objective personalized assistance to seniors and the disabled. Services include:

Medicare – Information concerning Health Maintenance Organizations (HMO’s), Medicare Supplement Plans (Medigap) and Medicare Part D prescription drug plans available in Arizona.

Help with enrollments, appeals, assistance with insurance paperwork and resolving problems.

Basic information about applying for Social Security, Medicare, Medicare cost sharing programs, SSI, AHCCCS and ALTCS.

Basic information about long term care insurance.

These volunteers are available to assist you all year on Fridays from 9:00 a.m.-noon in the Sun Lakes United Methodist Church Education Building, Room No. 3. The church is located at 9248 E. Riggs Road, just west of the Sun Lakes Robson Library. The Education Building is at the back (north end) of the church grounds. Entry into the building is from the north. Volunteer counselors are also available at Neighbors Who Care, 10450 E. Riggs Road, No. 113 on Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m.-noon by appointment only (480-895-7133). Drop by every Friday from 9:00 a.m.-noon. No appointment is necessary.
