Once again this fall, the East Valley Photo Club (EVPC) will participate in the Community Days held in all three Sun Lakes neighborhoods. Visit our display at Cottonwood Palo Verde on Oct. 4, Sun Lakes Country Club on Oct. 11, and IronOaks on Oct. 18.

The many stunning images displayed at our table demonstrate what is possible with encouragement and assistance. Indeed, many of our members have benefited from the acclaimed Digital Photography Fundamentals class series. The course is open to all, club members and non-members alike. Sun Lakes residency is not required, and no special photo equipment is needed, as our class participants capture photos with everything from smartphone cameras to the latest mirrorless offerings.

As in past seasons, two separate courses will be offered: Introduction to Digital Photography is designed to equip novice photographers with skills to produce beautiful photos using the automatic features of digital cameras. Mastering Your Technique is for experienced photographers striving for superior results by matching equipment and settings to the shooting environment and desired impact. The material is updated each year to reflect the latest technology and trends.

Each topic is presented in great detail with a wealth of examples. All students receive class notes prior to each session. Field shoots and studio workshops are included!

Classes begin in January. For additional information, visit our club’s website at www.eastvalleyphotoclub.com or contact Dan Dragoon at dan.dragoon@yahoo.com.

The East Valley Photo Club welcomes members from any geographical area, and all of our meetings are open to visitors who may simply be interested in finding out about the club. No photographic experience is necessary, and our membership is comprised of all levels of skills ranging from casual photo snappers to seasoned photographers.

The East Valley Photo Club meets on the first and third Thursdays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Navajo Room of Sun Lakes Country Club from October through April.
