Now that you have recovered from the holidays, it’s time to think about the year ahead. If you are new to Sun Lakes, the best way to create a great social life is to join and become active with the Fun Lakers Social Club. Annual dues are just $15, and membership allows you to purchase tickets early for all our fun events and at a reduced price.
It’s a big community, and being part of the Fun Lakers allows you to meet and get to know folks whom you will see again at all the events. If you are anxious to get involved, volunteer to help out with the activities. And if you are feeling like you really want to jump right in, volunteer to serve on the board. Wrapping up 2025, the “Winter Wonderland” Holiday Dinner Dance was a huge success. A wonderful dinner was served to the guests who were dressed in their glittery finest. Besides dancing the night away, many people won fabulous prizes. Check out the 2026 calendar below and get your tickets early.
Casino Night, Jan. 10
The professional gaming company 21 Fun will provide tables for poker, blackjack, roulette, and craps. You will be given $500 in chips to try out your luck. All this fun will take place in the San Tan Ballroom in Cottonwood. A limited dinner menu and cash bar will be available. Comedy Night, Jan. 29
We bring in the best comedians we can find, and where else can you have so much fun on a Thursday night? Laugh until you cry and get your tickets right away. You won’t want to miss this one. It will be in the Oakwood ballroom and, as usual, there will be a limited dinner menu available and a cash bar. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the laughs start at 7 p.m.
“Stick” Horse Races, Feb. 21
Back by popular demand, this hilarious activity allows you to select your winning horse and jockey, whom you most likely will know. This will take place in the Cottonwood ballroom. More details will be available on the website www.funlakers.org.
Golf Cart Rally, March 28
This year the Golf Cart Rally will be in Palo Verde starting at Sisk Park. We will be celebrating a Hawaiian theme. Details will be forthcoming.
Comedy Night, April 9
We are headed back to Oakwood for this round of laughs on a Thursday night. Check back for ticket sales.
