The mornings are cooler, and we are seeing more of the friendly faces of Niners who have been absent for a few months. Glad to see you again, guys.
Reminder: When we return to the Oakwood courses in November, we are scheduled for 9 a.m. tee time starts. Please keep current with the upcoming plans and check for any changes to the schedule.
We have been advised that the annual Golf Expo usually held on the Oakwood Range in early November has been canceled for 2020. Alternate plans for Club Fitting Days allowing golfers to meet with equipment vendors are: Nov. 14 Tour Edge; Nov. 18 Cleveland, XX10, and Mizuno; Nov. 19 Callaway and Taylor Made; and Nov. 20 Cobra. Appointments may be made by signing up at the Oakwood Pro Shop. The times are 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Social distancing and masks will be mandatory, and all equipment will be cleaned before and after use.
The highlight of the Oct. 8 Niners play day was the distribution of the new Niners logo shirts. The Niners logo, designed by member Bill Whitely, is prominently displayed. President Lloyd Schaeffer and VP Bill Pender were ready with the shirts and the lists. If you were not there to pick up your shirt, they will be available when we reconvene after overseeding, or you can contact Lloyd Schaeffer and make arrangements to pick up your shirt.
League dues for 2021: The Niners league dues for 2021 are $100. All members must submit an application, available in the Oakwood Pro Shop. Please place a completed application with your check for $100 in the Niners mail slot after Nov. 1, 2020.
Be sure to welcome new Niner John Ferrin, sponsored by Bruce Henderson and Bob Hiller. Also give a welcome to another new Niner, Robert Greene.
