It’s February and the month we celebrate Valentine’s Day. This day of celebration has an estimated $25 billion effect on the American economy! It is a huge day for small businesses all across the country, with an especially high impact on flower shops, chocolate producers, and restaurants. We will celebrate here in Sun Lakes with special dinners at both Cottonwood and Palo Verde. Get your reservations early, as these events sell out quickly!
We have a major project under consideration in Cottonwood. It is the reconstruction of the main pool area, which is the centerpiece of the community. We held a public forum to discuss the project and were pleased to see more than 275 people attend. The board of directors, the management team, and the pool architects were all present and received excellent feedback from the community. The architects will make several changes to the proposed concept to include a deep end, adjustments to the lap lanes, and the entry area at the south end. The amended concept will be presented to the public early in the month, and then the board will take action on how to move forward. This is an exciting project with many long-term benefits to the entire Association. We are looking forward to the next steps!
While the above-noted project has been the center of attention for several months, it is important to note that our staff has continued with all their normal/routine activities, including golf course maintenance, common area maintenance, building maintenance, and pool maintenance.
Another major event took place in January, and that was our annual Safety Day. There were more than 20 vendors, groups, and organizations present to discuss all sorts of safety issues, community resources, and opportunities. A big thank you to Chairman Mike Rogers and his Safety Committee for another successful day!
As we move into the busiest time of the year, please enjoy all of our amenities in a safe and fun manner every day!
