MOGA Club Championship

The prestigious MOGA Club Championship was ongoing throughout April. This annual event showcases the skills of top competitors and fosters camaraderie among members as they vie for the championship title.

Member/Guest Tournament

MOGA’s popular Member/Guest Tournament is a highlight event. This event included a day of competitive play, followed by a lunch and an awards banquet held in the ballroom.

Congratulations are in order for the winning teams:

• Meade/Franklin

Harty/Lee Smith

• Weiskopf/Nichols

• Petersen/Lehmkuhl

• Howard/Hahn

• Brown/King

The event was organized into five flights, with one flight ending in a first-place tie. It was a memorable tournament that highlighted the spirit of both competition and fellowship.

Improving the Pace of Play

Pace of play is a critical factor in enjoying the game of golf. Slow play can disrupt rhythm, leading to a less enjoyable round. Here are MOGA’s recommended tips to improve pace of play and maintain a smooth game flow:

• Be ready to hit: Prepare to take your shot while on the tee box so you’re ready when it’s your turn.

• Line up your putt: While others are putting, take the time to align your putt to ensure efficiency on the green.

• Maximize cart efficiency: Drop your playing partner off at their shot, then proceed to your own ball. After hitting, pick up your partner to maintain a steady pace.

• Streamline club management: Carry your club(s) with you to the next shot rather than spending time cleaning and bagging them immediately. You can put your clubs away and pull the next one simultaneously.

By adopting these simple strategies, every member can contribute to a smoother, more enjoyable round of golf for everyone involved.
