We regret and apologize for neglecting to mention in last month’s article all of the ladies and all the course maintenance workers who donated to the Vega family at the loss of their son. The family is very grateful for all the assistance. Thank you all!

The 2017 President’s Cup winner is Sid Schwartz. He finished 36 holes of golf with a total of 126 (61-65=126). Congratulations, Sid! Second place was a tie between Jim Ray (67-61=128) and Ward Stone (61-67-128). There were a total of 126 players in the tournament. Of special interest is the hole-in-one scored by Ralph Alexander on the Sonoran No. 8 hole. Special congratulations to you, Ralph!

In March of 2010, our then MOGA President Harold Yates wrote a nicely-worded email to all members cautioning all of us that all members should be playing by the USGA Rules of Golf with respect to keeping score, marking your ball, etc., etc. He said, “Golf is a gentlemen’s game, and it should be played with HONOR.” Meaningful words well spoken!

To quote Raymond Floyd, a great baseball player and golfer, “It took me 17 years to get 3,000 hits in baseball. I did it in one afternoon at the golf course.”
