The beginning of a new year! Nice green courses, beautiful scenery, great weather and great guys to play golf with.

The 2017 Ryder Cup took place on November 14 and 16 with Oakwood prevailing 30-24. We want to thank all the players who participated. Next year’s event is scheduled for November 12 and 15.

The Home and Home with Sun Lakes HOA1, took place on December 7 and 14. All who participated had a great time. Next year, it will take place on December 6 and 13.

MOGA will have a Member/Member Tournament on January 18. It will be a FUN 18-hole tournament, consisting of a six-hole Best Ball, a six hole Alternate Shot and a six hole Scramble with the best ball for the twosome counting on each hole. Applications will be available soon on the MOGA website. This event will start at 10:00 a.m.

All MOGA events starting on January 4 through February 8 will start at 10:00 a.m. This is being done to prevent all the frost delays.

The MOGA Schedule for January is:

January 4 – Low Gross/Net

January 11 – Skins Game

January 18 – Member/Member (best ball) (Entry fee $25.00/KP Pool)

January 25 – ABCD Scramble

The MOGA Championship will be played on February 1 and 8. Gross and net champions will be crowned this year.

The Frost Delay Policy is as follows:

Delays up to one hour: Shotgun start will take place, and the afternoon start will be at a time that allows the morning group to complete their round.

1-1/2 to 2 hours: Morning group will play only nine holes; afternoon start will be normal time. When in doubt, call the Pro Shop, Ext. 6.
