Musicians perform at Women’s Connection meeting

Sun Lakes musicians provided an hour-long program of music for the Sun Lakes Women’s Connection in November.

Cellist Sue Thomas had a varied solo program including “The Swan,” composed by the French composer Saint-Saens. Several of her selections were from the more popular literature including “Bridge Over Troubled Waters,” “Open Arms” and “Stairway to Heaven.” A couple of rock numbers were also included. Jeanette Cline was her accompanist.

Jeanette, also a cellist, joined Sue Thomas with a couple of cello duets including Hoffman’s “Barcarolle” and “Yellow Bird.” These were accompanied by Evelyn Fuller. Barbara Walker from Gilbert added her flute improvisations on several numbers.

The 100 ladies in attendance expressed their appreciation for the morning of music.
