The Sun Lakes Neighborhood Watch Group is keeping the momentum going after many successful Sun Lakes Neighborhood Block Parties on Oct. 24, as part of Getting Arizona Involved in Neighborhoods (G.A.I.N.) Laughter, conversation, and genuine connection filled the evening as neighbors gathered across Cottonwood, Palo Verde and Sun Lakes Country Club—showing that community spirit is alive and thriving in Sun Lakes. Residents enjoyed meeting new neighbors, catching up with familiar faces, and celebrating the shared pride of living in such a welcoming community.
Organizers extended heartfelt thanks to the many gracious hosts who opened their homes, patios, and neighborhood gathering spots—including the Lakes and Sisk Park—to bring neighbors together. Special appreciation also went to the distinguished guests who joined the celebrations, including members of the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, HOA Board members, and government representatives. Their presence added excitement and reinforced the importance of community partnerships. The enthusiasm was contagious, with many neighbors already talking about continuing to get together and looking forward to their next block parties.
Fresh Neighborhood Watch Signs Coming in the New Year
With the block party celebrations wrapped up, the Neighborhood Watch Group is already diving into its next project: installing new, refreshed Neighborhood Watch signs at the entrances of Cottonwood, Palo Verde, and Sun Lakes Country Club.
Residents have shared that the current rusted, dated signs are overdue for a refresh—and the new designs proudly highlight that Sun Lakes is a caring, aware, and connected community where neighbors look out for one another. Updated sign examples were shared at the meeting, and excitement is building to see them installed. Over 94% voted in support of these during the last community meeting.
The group is also seeking Sign Sponsors to help support this community improvement effort. Those interested can email sunlakesneighborhoodwatch@gmail.com to get involved.
Next Neighborhood Watch Meeting: Nov. 11 at 4:30 p.m., Cottonwood CLC.
We hope to see you there!
