New Year, New Church—FBCSL Wants You

First Baptist Church Sun Lakes (FBCSL) is really bringing the energy and making waves in our community. At FBCSL we are seeking to create a vibrant, engaging, uplifting environment for all. We desire to have a contagious faith, embracing creativity, connectivity, and vitality in Sun Lakes. If you’re looking for a church with these qualities, check us out at www.fbcsl.org or come and visit us.

In November FBCSL hosted a fabulous vintage car show. Stunning vintage cars were front and center, from muscle cars to spiffy sedans, from classic trucks to sleek convertibles, each telling its own unique story. Car owners shared in moments of meet and greet, with photo ops, while the classic oldies songs of the ‘50s and ‘60s added to the atmosphere. Congratulations to all the entrants. The three top winners walked away with a collectible vintage car worth hundreds of dollars.

December was a whirlwind of activity. There were concerts, a sing-along, movies, an outing to the Dream Center Christmas Celebration, and a ladies brunch featuring local author Martha Davidson. A Gala Event: Night of Hope, sponsored by the Son of David Messianic Fellowship, featured world-renowned concert pianist Sam Rotman. On Jan. 11 Sam will also be speaking at FBCSL’s men’s ministry initiative “Made of Metal.” For more information, go to www.fbcsl.org. The Buttered Biscuit catered the annual Christmas dinner, serving up a beautifully carved prime rib. Finally, the lights went out on the Christmas Candlelight Service to serve as a reminder of Christ’s light coming into the world.

The new year is proving to be just as exciting. Made of Metal is back for its second series of sharpening for the men of Sun Lakes. There is a gospel concert in January featuring Chuck Crain, a member of the Presleys’ Country Jubilee Show in Branson, Mo. The wildly successful “Love Song Sing-along” for Valentine’s Day is returning on Feb. 12. And in March FBCSL is sponsoring our first pickleball tournament at the Sun Lakes pickleball courts. The spring vintage car show will be bigger and better in April, with the addition of craft booths. Check the website for updates and additions, and mark your calendars. We are looking forward to engaging with you in 2025.
