News from the Spirit of the Desert Gourd Patch

The party was at the home of Carol Reese that is, the Halloween Party attended by ghosts, goblins, and fruits - all made from gourds. Carol got a quick snapshot of the culprits before they danced their way through the night - so playful and spirited, Carol. Good job.

Members have been appearing from their summer stomping grounds at a good rate and we are so happy to have them back. Our first meeting of the season was held October 15 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Arts and Crafts Room at Sun Lakes Country Club. We had a lively discussion about our website which is being revamped. Colleen McKnight graciously has offered to undertake the effort and we thank her hugely and sincerely.

One of our past presidents re-located to Oregon in August and we surely will miss her – Shirley and Jack Nesbitt have moved back to the northwest where they will be closer to family. A sad goodbye from us all, Shirley, and we will stay in touch and wish you well.

If you have any inclination to join our Patch, do not hesitate to contact Vicki McKenna at 480-802-1632 or Lorraine Longpre at 480-895-7771. The Patch meets monthly on the third Thursday of the month at the Arts and Crafts Room at Sun Lakes Country Club and visitors are welcome.
