President’s Message
David Erwin, President, IronOaks HOA
I think I found a topic we all can agree on: “It’s hot!”
Thank you all for braving the heat to be here today.
My message will be a little shorter today as the issues and topics I have included in previous messages will be included in the Executive Directors reports.
From what I have observed, and given the significant drop in the number of comment cards and email, the transition is proceeding. The staff training has begun and the acceptance of the changes has been very positive. We have had a few hiccups, but all have been addressed as they arise. A proposed Ad Hoc Transition Committee as a means of monitoring the process will be discussed later today.
Another important topic to be discussed today is the Code of Conduct for IronOaks.
The State of Arizona recently passed a number of bills that will require changes in our governing documents; specifically our ALC Guidelines and Rules and Regulations. These are being reviewed and the necessary updates will be implemented.
The restaurant project is moving along and the changes in the design and overall expansion is exciting. Stop in and look through the viewing window; you can see the changes.
I want to compliment Trish and her staff on the improved service, schedule and offerings to the homeowners at Poolside and Poolside patio. I am sure we will soon see many positive results in fitness, tennis, pickleball and golf.
Brian has been on top of the many projects for IronOaks; everything from landscape, roads, pools and so on. Brian will give the details during the meeting.
Both Trish and Brian have exhibited the enthusiasm, dedication and teamwork to assure the success of transition.
Thank you.

IronOaks welcomes new chef
Chef Robert (Bobby) Henningsen was raised in restaurants. Growing up with parents in the restaurant industry, he was always around food and has kept it that way his entire life.
From the age of eight, watching chefs like Julia Childs, he started creating his own dishes from scratch. At age 14, Chef Bobby got his first real job in a restaurant. From there, he continued to elevate his career working jobs in every aspect of a restaurant. Then, in order to further his passion for food, Chef Bobby studied at the Scottsdale Culinary Institute Le Cordon Bleu in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Fresh out of culinary school, Chef Bobby landed his first chef position at the age of 19 and has never looked back. He’s worked in restaurants across the country from New York to Houston to Denver and has worked in every style of restaurant from family-owned to corporate high-end steakhouses, but one thing has always been constant – Phoenix being home.
In the fall of 2013, Chef Bobby found a new place to call home as Executive Chef at V’s Taproom in Trilogy at Vistancia in Peoria, AZ. Since then he’s been serving up the types of dishes he knows best, comfort food.
From Italian classics like wood-fired pizza and penne Bolognese to the Southwestern short rib tacos, the menu at V’s reflects his style and background. There’s something for everyone to enjoy and that’s what Chef Bobby wants the most; for people to enjoy his food.
With nearly 20 years of experience in the restaurant industry, Chef Bobby’s knowledge, experience and background diverges together to bring fresh, delicious food to the table. In his time with Blue Star, Bobby has also traveled around the country to help open and train many other properties in the company, and helped V’s Taproom to win the national Golden Fork award from Golf Inc. magazine.
Bobby enjoys camping, hunting, sports, and spending time with his wife Marie and three children Maverick seven, Ruby five, and Lucy 18 months.
