Tuesday, November 1 from 10:00 a.m.–noon and 2:00-4:00 p.m.: Using Your iPad: Tips and Tricks for Beginners

The Data Dames present this two hour workshop for beginners on getting the most from your iPad. Topics covered include adding and deleting contacts, using iMessage and email, Siri, maps and photos among others. Please be sure to bring questions along with your iPad, charger and Apple passwords. Limited to 20 participants. Registration required. Registration begins October 12. Sponsored by the Friends of the Ed Robson Library. The two classes are identical. Please register for just one.

Tuesday, November 2 at 1:00 p.m.: Stan Sorenson – Jazz Guitar*

Join us as Stan Sorenson, jazz guitarist extraordinaire, visits the Ed Robson Library for an incredible one hour performance. Recently, Stan performed at the Chandler Center for the Arts as part of Tres Guitarres to great acclaim. His wide-ranging repertoire will enthrall and entertain! Saturday, November 5 at 10:00 a.m.: Awesome Occupations: Meet the K-9 Unit*

Have you ever wondered how they train the K-9 unit of the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Department? Or what the best dog breeds are for search and rescue? Do you think your dog has what it takes to be a service dog? Our Awesome Occupations series continues with an amazing demonstration of dogs with a job that saves lives. This program is geared for children ages five through 12, but all are welcome with caregiver.

Monday, November 7 at 2:00 p.m.: Exploring Downtown Chandler*

Downtown Chandler, so close to Sun Lakes, and with so much to offer! From shopping, restaurants, weekly Farmers Markets, and monthly third Friday Art Walks, to annual long-standing favorites; the Chandler Jazz Festival and Rock the Block, and exciting, new events like the Rockin’ Taco Street Fest and the Great Southwest Cajun Fest; there is lots to do. Monday, November 14 at 1:00 p.m.: Unwind at Adult Coloring Time

Adult coloring is sweeping the country and we want you to experience this latest trend in relaxation at your own Branch Library. If you haven’t heard, adult coloring helps promote our general wellness. Feel free to bring a snack, socialize and relax! Although you are welcome to bring your own colored pencils or markers, all supplies are provided. Program limited to 40 attendees. Please pick up a free ticket, limit two per person, on the day of the program.

Thursday, November 17 at 1:00 p.m.: PHXART Presents Albrecht Dürer*

Be inspired by great art by joining us for a lecture series presented by Phoenix Art Museum docents. In November, join us for a lecture entitled “Albrecht Dürer: A Search for the Essence of Beauty.” Docent Philip Felker will discuss this great German artist of the European Renaissance, who was patronized by emperors and princes. Friday, November 18 at 1:00 p.m.: Life Beyond the Tea Bag*

More than any other beverage, tea has inspired the arts, religions, great civilizations, commerce and war. Fascinating stories of the humble tea leaf take us from tea’s fortuitous beginnings to the tea renaissance going on today. Join us as Global Tea Mart’s Certified Tea Professional, Diane Eddy, leads us on this enthralling journey.

Tuesday, November 29 at 11:00 a.m.: Crafternoon: Forest Creatures

Stop by the Library and make two tiny forest creatures and then write your own story about exploring the forest. Geared for ages three to six, but all are welcome with caregiver. Registration opens November 14 and is limited to 15 participants.

*On the day of the program, please come by the library customer service desk for a free ticket, limit two per person. Please park in the church parking lot next to the library.
