We had a fun and exciting event on Dec. 13 playing a Three Best Ball Stableford tournament. Surprisingly, it proved that our golf skills significantly exceeded our scorekeeping and math skills! Score cards contained 46 errors. Thanks to our president, webmaster, and forensic accountant (Fred Smith), appropriate corrections were made, and 11 couples qualified for a piece of the $331.92 prize money. KPs and LPs qualified for another $30.00. Two of our players joined the 70s gross club: Sharon Bowditch 78 and Jack Lehmkuhl 77. Congratulations to both!
Unfortunately, our Dec. 27 event had to be canceled due to the forecast rain, which proved to be remarkably accurate for a change. The good news is we have gained four new members and expect two more at our next event.
Our Jan. 10 event was a Member/Member, playing a Four-ball C-O-D Chapman. The details are too tedious to describe here, but it is better known as the divorce game, due to the alternate shot format! We haven’t seen any filings yet, but there are scars that need to heal. For KPs and LPs, the men and women are tied year to date. Fifteen couples qualified for a piece of the $388 in prize money.
