The Oakwood Couples 9-Hole League season came to an end in May with morning golf and a luncheon, which was attended by 44 golfers. Membership applications for the 2024-25 season will go out in August, and we will be reconvening our new season in November of 2024.
Each year our league has a 50/50 raffle of which 50% goes to the Chandler High School Girls Golf Team. Our ending dinner featured a presentation of $2,100 to the Chandler High Girls Golf Team (this was a record amount!). At this dinner, we were fortunate that two of their players and their coach were in attendance.
During our early May meeting, the membership approved the addition of a new board position of secretary/membership. Membership also voted on a new slate of officers for the 2024-25 season. Newly elected officers are as follows: Jen Pender, president; Lloyd Shaffer, vice president; Judy Hedding, pairings/handicap; Carol Benford, treasurer; and Greg Gustafson, secretary/membership.
A special thanks/kudos to Roberta Havey, president of our group for the 2023-24 season. Roberta did an outstanding job!
