After a long layoff from golf because of overseeding, our OLGA league play commenced on Nov. 1. We played from the 150-yard marker, because it was “car path only.” Winners in Flight 1 were first Glo Malmberg, and tied for second were Mary Dyrseth and Debbie Wood. Flight 2 was won by Dolly Eide, second was Sally Berreth, and third was Kay Lehmkuhl. Flight 3 was won by Carole Schmidt, and second was Shirley Weaver. Tied for third were Julie Clausen and Nancy Cohn. In Flight 4, Frankie Hatch was the winner, Sherry Rogers placed second, and tied for third were Linda Thrash, Terry Jung, Phyllis D’Amore, and Sharon Skoworn. Flight 5 was won by Marty Light, second was Joann Rebillard, and tied for third were Pam Shumard and Barbara Anderson.
The popular ABCD scramble was the POD for Nov. 8. Two teams tied for first. They were the teams of Dang Teater, Linda Morris, Joan Hammond, Jan Skibo/Mary Perry, Sally Berreth, Pam Shumard, Beth Ebmeier. Two teams tied for second. They were Glo Malmberg, Shirley Weaver, Sharon Skoworn, Karen Fager/Sandy Brandt, Pat Schepp, Judy Kirschenbaum, Joann Rebillard.
Membership renewals are due, and the OLGA ladies would like to invite anyone interested in joining their friendly league to check out the application on the website, www.olgagolf.org. Play is on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. shotgun this time of the year. Various abilities are welcome, since play is from the yellow or silver tees depending on age and handicap. We’d love to include you!
