This summer has been difficult, to say the least. Congratulations to those of you who braved the temps and played, even if you didn’t complete nine holes. Soon the temperatures in the morning will be cooler.
There will be a Welcome Back get-together on Nov. 5 in the golf clubhouse from 9 to 11 a.m. Please be sure to bring along a friend or neighbor who is interested in joining our league. Light refreshments will be served. We welcome all who are interested. If you are not able to make the get-together and have any questions about joining, please email me at ucreggie1963@aol.com and I will put you in touch with the right person.
Our first official game will be on Nov. 12. It will be a step aside scramble. The game rules will be posted on the score cards. After the game, our Welcome Back luncheon will be held in the dining room. Please bring your score cards to the luncheon. The lunch will be a barbeque with all the fixings. There is usually a cash bar available. The cost is $22. Checks should be made out to OLNGA and placed in the OLNGA cabinet in the golf clubhouse. Your check is your reservation.

The election for new officers will take place in December. If you have any interest in joining a committee, please let me know. Being part of a committee not only helps our club but helps our newer members meet new friends and contribute to a great team.
The Oakwood Lady Niners is the oldest official golf league in IronOaks, and one of our founders, Josephine Saucerman, will turn 106 in October! What a great golfer she was, and she had the greatest outlook on life. She always had the best smile and encouraging words.
