Tuesday, October 4 at 1:00 p.m. – Arizona Department of Veterans’ Services
Join us for an overview of the many benefits provided by the Arizona Department of Veterans’ Services. Bill Phalen, from the local office in Chandler, will provide useful information on filing claims for compensation and pension programs for veterans and surviving spouses, as well as answer questions. On the day of the program, please come by the library customer service desk for a free ticket, limit two per person. Please park in the church parking lot next to the library.
Tuesday, October 11 at 10:00 a.m. – Storytime for Kids!
A fun-filled 30-minute program with stories and a take away coloring page. A new theme each month! Stories are geared toward ages three and up, but all are welcome with their caregiver.
Monday, October 17 at 11:00 a.m. – Crafternoon: Tissue Paper Tree
Welcome fall! Stop by the library and make your own tissue paper tree with falling leaves and then write your own story about the season. Geared for ages three to six, but all are welcome with caregiver. Registration opens September 26 and is limited to 20 participants.
Monday, Oct 24 at 1:00 p.m. – Unwind at Adult Coloring Time
Adult coloring is sweeping the country and we want you to experience this latest trend in relaxation at your own branch library. If you haven’t heard, adult coloring helps promote our general wellness. Feel free to bring a snack, socialize and relax! Although you are welcome to bring your own colored pencils or markers, all supplies are provided.
Wednesday, October 26 at 1:00 p.m. – Ghost Towns of Arizona
Ghost towns dot Arizona’s landscape and provide unique insights into a diverse history. Some ghost towns tell a boom-to-bust story while others have become thriving tourist destinations. Many are old mining locations that once bustled with life, while others tell more modern stories. This program will feature stories of ghost towns such as Crown King, Jerome and Two Guns. Join Marshall Shore, “Arizona’s Hip Historian,” for this fascinating slice of Arizona history. Sponsored by Arizona Humanities and the Friends of the Ed Robson Library. On the day of the program, please come by the library customer service desk for a free ticket, limit two per person. Please park in the church parking lot next to the library.
Saturday, October 29 at 10:00 a.m. – Dia de los Doggies
Make a friend, save a life! The Maricopa County Mobile Adoption Bus will be here with a variety of homeless dogs who would love to join your family. Drop over for a visit and take home a new friend. As part of our parking lot will be closed off for this event, please plan to park in the church parking lot next to the library.
