Rotary Club of Sun Lakes Supports Chandler CARE Center

Dr. Honora Norton, RCSL Public Image Chair

One of the Rotary Club of Sun Lakes’ (RCSL) latest community service projects is the support of Chandler CARE Center. Per RCSL Rotarian Peter Meade, a cereal collection program was started by a Dr. Camille Casteel High School student. The student discovered that many children do not know where their next meal will come from. Hearing this, the Rotarians realized the need to nourish young minds and collected/delivered cereal for families in need.

Established in 1995, the mission of the Chandler CARE Center is to promote students’ school readiness, attendance, and academic success by providing medical treatment, social services, parent education programs, and referrals. The Chandler CARE Center is a school-based family resource center providing access to medical, dental, counseling, and social services. Most services are free of charge to families, thanks to the many funders, professionals, and service organizations, such as RCSL, contributing financially and volunteering their services.
