OLGA held their championship tournaments over a three week span, from April 7–21. For the first time, the low gross and low net championships were held concurrently. It can be said that a lot of good, tense golf was played during those three weeks!
In the club championship tournament, the leader for the first two weeks was Mary Figgis. But then, during the third week’s play, Sharon Bowditch came with her “A” game. She was several strokes back but won the OLGA championship by finishing two strokes better than Glo Malmberg. Sharon has been the low gross club champion for six of the past seven years! Sharon has won the most championships of anyone in the 20 years that OLGA has had a formal tournament and declared champion. Congratulations, Sharon!
Flight winners – Flight 1: 1st Glo Malmberg, 2nd Mary Figgis, 3rd Roselyn Hoiby; Flight 2: 1st Karis Scott, 2nd Debbie Horner, 3rd Barbara Anderson; Flight 3: 1st Julie Hastings, 2nd Kathy Schnell, 3rd (tie) Karen Welker and Pat Schepp; Flight 4: 1st Paula Dielmann, 2nd Liz Pritchard, 3rd Carol Jones
Nancy Annen was the winner of the Olga Cup, our net strokes championship. She played well all three weeks, and won by a nice cushion of three strokes. It’s tough to keep your head in the game without letting “head games” get the better of you. Congratulations, Nancy!

Congratulations to the participants who gave it their all for three weeks. We can fully appreciate what we see on the televised tournaments: Hang tough! Sink that putt (and smile for the camera)!
