The OLGA Member-Member event was postponed for a week due to inclement weather. Unfortunately, a number of players lost their partners due to travel plans, since it was rescheduled for the week of Thanksgiving. The event went on a week later, and the winners were as follows:
Flight 1: Christa Pensworth and Carolyn Marchuk tied with Lynda Jones and Amanda McCloone for first place. Tied for third were Vicki Jenkins and Kelley McHenry and Sharon Bowditch and Glo Malmberg.
Flight 2: Vicki Scott and Barbara Kassel took first place, Nancy Cohn and Diane McCauley were second, Stefanie Raach and Shirley Weaver were third, and Roselyn Hoiby and Lynn Shaw finished fourth.
Flight 3: Linda Morris and Judi Walker were first, tied for second were Kathy Burns and Liz Pritchard with Terry Jung and Pat Schepp, and Karen Stock and Doris Swanson tied with Tammy Baker and Sue Pederson for fourth.
On Dec. 2 the first round of the OLGA Cup (the low net tournament) was played. After the first round, Glo Malmberg was in first with a 68. Close on her heels was Barb Anderson at 69. Karen Bustillo was third with a 71, and Shirley Weaver was fourth at 72. Both Julie Hastings and Christa Pensworth were at 73. Jean Karich had a 74, and then there were four players with 75 and five players with 76. Many other players had somewhat higher scores. Should be a nailbiter for the second round. I guess I’m glad I’m not in the mix.
This is my last Splash article in my two-year term. Time for someone else to pick up the job so I can go try to find my golf game again. Adios, amigos.
