Nov. 9 was the first POD for the Oakwood Ladies Golf Association (OLGA) after overseeding. The game was played from 150 yards. We were very happy to have most of our winter visitors playing in the event. In Flight 1, the winner was Joan Hammond, second place Dang Teater, third place Eun Yoon, and fourth was Cindy Reinertsen. In Flight 2, the winner was Julie Clausen, BJ Schuller and Linda Thrash tied for second, and there was a three-way tie for fourth: Susie La Salvia, Eleanor McCann, and Gail Moen. Flight 3 was won by Shirley Weaver, and tied for second were Nancy Cohn and Judy Kirschenbaum. Flight 4 winner was Janey Garibay. There was a four-way tie for second. They were Norma Tucker, Barbara Anderson, Karen Fager, and Leann Knox.

Sharon Skowron, our vice president, is in charge of our annual OLGA Charity Golf Tournament on Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2022. She wants us all to mark our calendars, because a luncheon will follow with our donation presentation to a representative from St. Mary’s Food Bank. Sign-up for the luncheon will be posted in late December in the clubhouse. As an Arizona resident, you can receive a dollar-for-dollar tax credit for your donation to St. Mary’s Food Bank. Donations can be up to $400 for individual filing, or $800 if you file jointly. So, once again, we look forward to your generous support. Thank you in advance!
