OLNGA elects new board

Meet our OLNGA’S 2019 Board members:

President Denise Lott – Moved to Sun Lakes with her husband Dave five years ago. Denise is an avid tennis player and took up golf three years ago by taking lessons with her 10-year-old granddaughter. Obviously, Denise’s lessons and practice have paid off, as she was voted “most improved player in 2018” and scored a hole-in-one the same year.

Vice President Jacque Smith – Moved to Sun Lakes from Ahwatukee three years ago. Jacque has played golf going on 25 years. Besides golf, Jacque is an avid walker/swimmer. Her favorite pastime is spending time with grandchildren and family.

Treasurer Rachel Enloe – Moved to Sun Lakes in 2004 but didn’t take up the golf game until 2008. Rachel has traveled the world. Besides her interest in golf, Rachel is a volunteer at Neighbors Who Care.

Secretary Helen Semple – After quite a hiatus from golf, Helen again took up the sport in 2000. Helen’s interests range from golf, book club, Mah Jongg, bridge and volunteering at San Marco School. Like many of us, Helen likes living in Sun Lakes where she has made many lasting friendships and is able to participate in varied activities.

The OLNGA Ladies “attacked” the Palms course on January 15 with the objective of low score on odd holes. Flight 1 winners were Barb Collier in first, Joyce Parker and Phyllis Madison tied for second and Cora Levensky and Jacque Smith in third. Flight 2 had new member Janet Littlefield in first, with Colleen Duke and Julia Collier tied for second and Linda Liberti in third. Hazel Ludwig (another new member) came in first in Flight 3, with Sheila Bossio and Eleanor Walsted in second and Rachel Enloe in third.

On January 29, our “nemesis” for the day was the Lakes course, with the objective of low net. Flight 1 had Cora Lathom-Levensky, Bobbie Tasch in second and in third, Barbara Johnson. Mary Medved and Colleen Duke came in first in Flight 2, followed by Suevonne Negaard. Flight 3 had newcomer Kathy Siegrist in first, second was Eleanor Walstad with Dottie Meade in third.

Birdies & Chip-Ins: Bonnie Tasch had two birdies in January and Carol Lorenz one. Chip-Ins were recorded by Barbara Johnson, Eleanor Walsted, Colleen Duke, Joyce Parker, Pat Stead, Judy Hedding and two for Bonnie Tasch. Congrats to all.

Tip of the Month: Remember, if you accidentally hit yourself or your equipment with your ball, this is not a penalty (the operative word is accidentally).
