Welcome to two additional players: Jenna Hall and Liz Martin. I think we have now added about 25 new players to our group and three returning 9-hole players. We are so happy to have all of you join our group.
OLNGA ladies hit the Sonoran course on February 12 with a low net objective. Flight 1 was led by Mary Evans, with Joyce Parker in second and Ila Kraayenbrink in third. Flight 2’s first-place winner was Barbara Stewart, with Julia Collier in second and third place was Judy Hedding. Rachel Enloe was first in Flight 3, with Sheila Bossio in second and Hazel Ludwig in third.
On February 19, the OLNGA group played the Lakes course. The day was very cold, and some stalwart golfers attacked the course. Flight 1 was led by Joyce Parker and Bonnie Tasch in first and Cora Levensky in second. Flight 2 was led by Julia Collier, Reggie Wegman took second place and a tie for third was Barbara Stewart and Carol Lorenz.
The Palms course and the objective of a low gross score was the game of the day. Flight 1 had three first-place winners: Joyce Parker, Kathy Chebuhar and Pat Stead. Ila Kraayenbrink, Barbara Johnson and Erika Tiepel all tied for second. Flight 2 had Tuny O’Rourke in first, Barbara Stewart in second and a tie for third with Mary Evans and Mary Medved. Flight 3 was led by Sheila Bossio in first, Rachel Enloe in second and Kathy Siegrist in third.
On March 5, we had a mixer with the lady golfers from Ironwood. We played a scramble on the Sonoran course and then ended the morning with a wonderful luncheon. Winning groups in the scramble were First place: Julia Collier, Gail Bavis, Nancy Knott and Hazel Ludwig; second place went to Linda Liberti, Laurie Olson, Margaret Johns and Liz Martin. Shirley Malick, Mary Evans, Patty Franzo and Chloe Hanken came in third. It was great to have the ladies from Ironwood join us and hope we can do it again soon.
Tip of the month: Don’t forget to take extra clubs with you so that you don’t have to return to the cart – helps speed of play!
