Bring the kids and grandkids to the open houses!

Bring the kids and grandkids to the open houses!

By popular demand, once again as part of one of our major events, several homes will be opening their Model Railroad layouts to the Public on April 2 and 3 around the Valley. At least five of these homes will be located in the Sun Lakes vicinity, with the majority of them being of the garden variety. We do expect to also have available an “N” scale layout that you won’t want to miss. This incorporates some of the latest technology in the use of LEDs that I’m sure you will find fascinating. Target dates scheduled for these open house layouts is scheduled for April 2 and 3 and the homes will be open to the public from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. only. Spring is here, and the good weather has arrived, so we hope to see a nice turn out for all to enjoy.

The next meeting for the Short Line Model Railroad Club is scheduled for April 9 at the Lakeview Room at the SunBird Community Center. Meeting starts promptly at 9:30 a.m. and usually lasts for a few hours where new projects and upcoming events are a major part of the agenda. As always, all newcomers are welcome and the timing may suit you well, as several new approaches are in the initial planning and hands-on stages, as we move forward in planning our agenda for the rest of the year.

All the locations for the open houses haven’t been finalized at the time of this writing. Local website for IronOaks, plus slmodelrrclub.org, and azbigtrains.org will be updated when the information becomes available. As a last resort you can follow the signs that say “Trains” within the communities, or inquire at the guard houses at Oakwood and Ironwood for assistance. Remember, the open houses will only be available on April 2 and in most cases, also on the April 3.

If you have any questions feel free to contact me by email at [email protected] or contact any one of our officers. They are all listed on the Short Line Model Railroad Club website. Hope you can spare a little bit of time to joins us at one of our most popular events of the year. Looking forward to having a little bit of fun, and getting to make some new acquaintances with those that share our interests. Have a great day.
