The Ocotillo Women’s League always has a fundraising project in the works, and that’s a big part of this social-service organization. A team from the OWL community service group recently volunteered at the Colton Cowell Foundation, participating in their Super Hero experience with families of disabled or terminally ill children. In March, OWL members donated women’s hygiene products to Women4Women, followed by a “packing party” in April to assemble the items for distribution. At our monthly luncheons, we always have a 50/50 raffle where 50% of those funds are donated to one of our vetted charities. Not only do we strive to support viable charities in our community, but we have a lot of fun doing it!

The March 16 luncheon featured local singer and musician, Les Koel. Les is well-known as a performer at Legends Showcase Bar & Grill. At the April 20 luncheon, the speakeasy theme was enhanced by singer Jackie Lopez, as her sultry and buttery-smooth vocals entertained us all. Coming up on May 18, the springtime themed luncheon will feature Coq au Vin accompanied by a Farmer’s Market Salad, Rice Pilaf, Vegetable Medley and Lemon Cake.

The OWLS recess for the months of July and August, so it’s a great time to attend a luncheon and get to know us.

If you are a woman residing in the Ocotillo, Sun Lakes or greater Chandler area and are interested in the Ocotillo Women’s League (OWL), we’d love to show you what we’re all about and meet you at one of our luncheons. To make a reservation, please contact: membership@owlsgroup.org.
