It was a lovely day for a walk with a stick and a ball. Our very lovely Pat Tjosvold managed to connect straight and true for a Hole–in–One. As she likes to say “It was a very lucky shot.” It was May 12 on hole number 12. It was her fifth Hole–in–One.
After golf we had our Luncheon and General Board meeting. We all got to Cheer Pat for her Hole–in–One. Congratulations!
Those of us who are staying for some heat are looking forward to quick paste games.
Happy 250th to America! Golf history in America. In December 1650, the settlers of Fort Orange (near present-day Albany, New York) played the first recorded round of kolf (golf) in America.
The Dutch settlers played kolf year-round. During the spring, summer and fall it was played in fields. In the winter it was played in the streets. Check out “History Of Golf” Wikipedia, for the rest of the story.
Cheers to golf, Cheers to golf in America.
