Palo Verde Ladies Golf Association (PVLGA) has a charitable committee called PVLGA CARES. Donations are collected from PVLGA members, friends, family, and the public, through the sale of facial masks and other fundraising activities. Members of the committee are Val Verbeck, Gail Assenmacher, Mary Horn, and Judy Diadone. On a regular basis, the committee selects a Chandler-area charity to support, after researching its purpose and needs.

PVLGA CARES recently donated 10 Easy Walk harnesses to Dogs4Vets whose mission is to give the gifts of independence, trust, and companionship to men and women injured while serving our country. (Arizona has thousands of such veterans.) Dogs4Vets trains the veteran’s own dog to become a certified service dog, which helps the veteran adjust back to a normal life. There is no charge to the veterans.

Dogs4Vet is a 501(c)(3) organization, and donors can help change the life of a veteran, and receive an Arizona State tax credit of $400 for those filing singly or $800 for those filing jointly. For more information about this worthy program, visit www.dogs4vets.org or call them at 480-802-9339.

PVLGA ladies club has been able to continue playing in their league during the pandemic with the assistance of the staff and grounds crew making the course safe for us to be able to still have play dates. With excellent safety measures in place, we have been able to play and socialize with each other while staying safe on the course. Thank you to all of the people who make this possible.
