Pastoral Care Ministries has been launched by Doug Ross. He and his wife, Sandy, have lived in Sun Lakes for about 10 years, previously in Tempe, Arizona. This new ministry will include several services including Weddings, Funerals or Celebrations of Life and a Newsletter soon to be announced.
Ross, ordained to the ministry in 1956, has followed a unique ministry path. He has never been the pastor of a church himself but has been active in the founding of and leadership of various churches serving on the Board and teaching. He has preached in churches and conventions across the country and around the world. He began his ministry as the Director of Seattle Youth for Christ and then became involved in various communications positions, including production of Christian films and Christian publishing. While President of Success with Youth Publications, he was one of the founders of the Evangelical Christian Publishing Association, an organization he later led as President. He and his wife, Sandy, served that association for 17 years. Doug was instrumental in helping found and nurture several Christian publishing houses in third world countries.
Following his retirement, he traveled to Cuba six times assisting in house church development, establishment of Pastoral Resource Centers across the island and the launching of distribution for The Jesus film.
Ross said, “I would love to meet personally with any couple desiring a Christian marriage ceremony – or a family in need of – or anticipating – a death in the family. These times in our life are the occasions many people seek affirmation of their faith and desire to ask God to lead them in the future.”
Doug is available for pulpit supply, missionary conferences, senior ministry groups or other events such as men’s groups or retreats. For more information you can contact Doug Ross at 480-323-8840 or at his e-mail address at [email protected].
