Happy New Year and welcome to 2018, Sun Lakers. It is time again for happy hour and lots of fun. If you like music, Diana Perez will be back to sing her songs with her sidekick Buddy Apfel to entertain you as you settle into “Paradise” here in our wonderful community. If you have not yet been to “The Patio” at Sun Lakes Phase 1 Country Club, now is the time to stop by, have a cocktail and enjoy the fireplace ambiance while listening to some oldies. You can even sing along to those you know, or request your favorite tunes from the talented duo. Mark your calendars to join in on February 23 or April 27 from 5:00-7:00 p.m.

Diana and Buddy will also be performing at the Renaissance on February 6, April 3 and June 5 from 2:00-3:00 p.m. What a wonderful opportunity to visit the new facility and even have a bite of lunch before the music. The new building is #9504 off Riggs Road and is absolutely beautiful.

Diana performs monthly at “The Perfect Place” adult daycare as a donation to our community. This is open to the public, so feel free to stop by, see if this place is something that would be good for you, a friend or a family member and take part in the enjoyment that is such a fun event for these folks. Set dates are February 9 and March 13 from 2:00-3:00 p.m.

Diana is a member of the Sun Lakes Choirdaires, along with being a board member of the Arizona Classic Jazz Society. She sang with her quartet at the 2017 ACJ Festival where they played favorites from the 1940s which was much appreciated by all, especially our veterans.

In the fall of 2017, she directed the choir and sang in the play Beaujest, performed by the Sun Lakes Community Theatre, and as a result, joined this group too. Her schedule is busy, but her passion for music is deep and very evident, as you can see. We are lucky to have her as a resident who is so willing to share her talent with all of us. Hope to see you at a few of these events soon.
