First Baptist Church Sun Lakes will host two community events in March.
What’s your preference? A Pickleball Tournament? How about a Vintage Car Show with its carnival-like atmosphere? Why not do both?
First Baptist Church is hosting its first annual pickleball tournament, a MUD (mixed-up doubles) Pickleball Tournament. This event is scheduled for Thursday, March 13, from 9 a.m. to noon and will be held at the Sun Lakes Country Club courts. While this event is open to all, register early, because it is limited to 40 participants. There will be awards and prizes, and it’s guaranteed to be a fun time for all.
Mark your calendars for the Vintage Car Show on March 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This year’s Vintage Car Show is all new, with a Chili Cook-Off, temporary tattoo artist for the kids, gift basket raffle, 50/50, and food for sale on site. All proceeds will benefit the Sun Lakes Fire Department. There is also a rumor going around that Spider-Man and Elsa will be making an appearance. Bring the family, have lunch, bid on a gift basket, and let the kids meet Spider-Man and Elsa. Peruse the beautiful vintage cars. Come out and get to know your neighbors.
For those planning to enter your car in the show this year, there is a $20 donation fee (to benefit Sun Lakes Fire Department), which will be taken on site (in cash). However, that donation includes a free meal ticket. Bring your car and your family and enjoy the festivities.
