Janet Baron Publicity Chairman Hot-hot-hot! “Giving off great heat, being at a high temp, warmer than normal, causing a burning sensation.” We have experienced all of the above and much more these past weeks as it brought a record breaking temperature of 111 degrees; in spite of all, our course is in pristine condition. Most of us opted out of our daily golf games. 07/01. Cindy Bosch won the better nine holes game; she tied with Tammy Visser, Mary Fitzke was the 3rd place winner. There were only two flights that day as the temperature rose to well over 108. Rita Raymond, Kathy Bushbaum and Janet Baron were respective winners in Flight 2. 07/08. This was the scene of our fun day play. The team of Carolyn Tagatz, Marj Rasmussen and Shirley Hutchins were the 1st place winners; Carol Guild, Camille Jasien and Rita Raymond 2nd place winners, and in 3rd place was Gwen Curtis, Jeanene Nelson and Wanda Wiggins. 07/15. The even holes play was won by Carolyn Tagatz, Carol Ruff in 2nd place tied with Pattie Seiberling; Flight 2 winners were Shirley Hutchins and Wanda Johnson and Helen Saxton tied for 2nd. 07/16. We survived another extremely hot day while playing in our summer league; 1st place the team of Cheryl Reed, Joann Rebillard and Jerry Jordan, in 2nd place the team of Jimmie Maramonte, Susan Lamb and Julie Mooney, the 3rd place team winners were Jan Kellar, Nancy Dinkelman and Shirley Hutchins. Joey presented the cash winnings during our luncheon served in the PV dining room. 07/21. The Crier’s Tournament was won with a tie between Carolyn Tagetz and Jackie Reeve, Mary Garifo was the 3rd place winner; Shirley Hutchins, Marj Rasmussen and Marion Carr tied for 3rd. 07/29. The final game (fewest putts) was won with a tie between Carolyn Tagatz and Jackie Reeve, Mary Garifo was the 3rd place winner; Flight 2 winners were Shirley Hutchins and Marj Raemussen, Marion Carr tied for 2nd.
