Palo Verde Ladies Golf Association (PVLGA) celebrated the return of former and new members with a Fall Scramble, lunch, and business meeting on Oct. 24. We were very careful and filled our divots with sand, as the course had just opened the day before after overseeding. Palo Verde is beautiful, so thank you to the fabulous grounds crew. The first place winners of the Scramble, with a score of 39.25, were the team of Cindy Ryan, Teresa Roark, Ann Cain, and Cathy Sullivan. Congratulations!

Our Golf Fore Life Cancer Tournament on Nov. 14 was a huge success, thanks to everyone who played and donated signs and raffle items. It was an enjoyable event, especially for the men’s and women’s flight winners and those who were lucky enough to win a raffle item. The tournament raised well over $15,000 for the University of Arizona Cancer Center for Research.

Our next big event will be the Christmas Scramble and Party on Dec. 12. The charity for this event will be Sunshine Acres Home. This charity helps children who are in need of a temporary place to reside. They are in need of personal grooming items as well as gift cards to buy necessities. Please check the lounge to sign up for the event and to get more information. Our new officers for 2024 will be installed at the meeting after lunch.

Be sure to sign up each week on Chelsea for morning or afternoon play. If you would like to join the PVLGA, check the Ladies Lounge at the Palo Verde clubhouse for all the information. We are a fun group, with events and play days every Tuesday year round!
