PVMGA January Play

The Palo Verde Men’s Golf Association had a full calendar of events for January’s play, starting with a Home and Home with the Sun Lakes Country Club Men’s Club. The month filled out with a 2-man select a drive, a 2 best ball of 4 net, the annual two-day Presidents Cup, and finishing the month with our annual major Member/Member event.

The Home and Home with SLCC started on Thursday at Sun Lakes with refreshments and social time following. Play continued on Saturday at Palo Verde and finished with a buffet and awards afterwards in the Palo Verde dining room.

Flight 3: 1st Cliff Joyes, 2nd Phil Kiss, 3rd John Allen

The Overall Presidents Cup Champion for 2026 was Cliff Joyes (Flight 3) who won in a two-hole playoff with eventual runner-up John Kane (Flight 2).

The Member/Member Tournament is the first of two major tournaments of the year and is going to be followed by the Member/Guest Tournament being held Saturday, March 28, and Sunday, March 29. Activities for the weekend will include a practice round/Fun Day on Friday afternoon with hole-in-one prizes, a circle hole with refreshments, and food on the Palo Verde patio following play. A big thank you to A-1 Golf Carts for their support and sponsorship. The tournament begins on Saturday morning, followed by a lunch in the Palo Verde restaurant for participants. Sunday morning concludes play and is followed by lunch and awards in the San Tan Ballroom for players and their guest. There are still spots available and time for PVMGA members to sign up and join us in a great event if they haven’t yet.
