Temperatures are rising; some folks are departing. Those of us who are remaining are just getting comfortable with the warmth of the spring sun – well, maybe it is getting a little toasty, but it’s easily taken care of with a cold beverage after a round…
So the Saturday competitions at Palo Verde continue and, once again, we are pleased to report the following results for the past several weeks:
On Saturday, March 17, a morning 2 Best Balls Net event resulted in a tie with a score of 100! The winners were John Kane, Paul Jorgensen, Jim Roberts and Terry Cronin and John Mitchell, Mike Mlynarczyk, Rick Onken and Bob Keltz.
The afternoon version was won by Ben Caviness, Ken Stanley and Julian Pickens (with a blind draw) with a score of 102.
On Thursday, March 22, and Saturday, March 24, a Home & Home tournament with Oakwood CC was played and, with a score of 204, was won by Lee Smith, Kim Fliethman, Charlie Healy and Vaughn Torgusen!
On the afternoon of Saturday, March 24, a 2 BBs Net contest was won by Jack Hill, Tom Gartner, Ron Cox and Julian Pickens with a score of 101.
On Saturday, March 31, a morning Select-A-Drive, 2 BBs Net was won by James Granzow, Dan Eisenzimmer and Bill Davis (with a blind draw) with a score of 86.
An afternoon version of the above was won by Ben Caviness, Jim Wedeward, Bill Lewis and Dick Thomas, who also scored an 86!
On the afternoon of Saturday, April 7, a 3-2-1 contest was won (in a tie) by Arnie Bannerman, James Mottern, Neil Durhman and Jerry Esget and Tom Gartner, Frank Broley, Dan Eisenzimmer and Budd Livingstone with scores of 84.
One of the premier events of the year, the 2018 PVMGA John Dobson Memorial Member/Guest Tournament, was held on Saturday, April 17, and Sunday, April 18.
The 2018 Member/Guest champions are Dave Florence and Enrique Morales who won this tournament with a score of 128! Congratulations, gentlemen! Special congratulations to Dave Florence who carded a hole-in-one!
