Our friends are back! Our course is rejuvenated and ready for action! The 2018/2019 season is about to commence! What more could we ask for – except maybe an improved game?

We are, as usual, pleased to report on the results of the past month’s morning activities. Here they are:

On Saturday, September 15, an Individual Stableford competition was held. The winners:

Flight #1 (0-18) – Tom Rainville, with a score of 32.

Flight #2 (19 & up) – Jeff Martin, with a score of 31.

(Paul Jorgensen had a hole-in-one on #15. Congratulations, Paul!)

On Saturday, September 22, a 1 Gross +2 Net BB’s was won by Ron Crabtree, Wes Davis and Gary Zahnow (plus a blind draw) with a score of 159.

On Saturday, September 29, a 2 Net BB’s contest was won by Daryl Ramseyer, Basil Foster, Bill Ryan and Vaughn Torgusen, with a score of 98.

On Saturday, October 6, with the closing of Palo Verde for overseeding, a joint CW/PV “Beat the Pros/Presidents” Scramble was once again held at CWCC.

Once again, the overwhelming majority of participants managed to beat the celebrities! (But we won’t rub it in by naming names.)

A follow-up Scramble was scheduled to take place at PV on October 27, upon the reopening of the course.

The “Celebration of Golf,” the premier social event of the season, scheduled for the evening of Tuesday, November 6, was sold out instantly, with many members spending the early morning hours standing (or sitting) in line in order to select tables closest to the bar!

The new Palo Verde Men’s Golf Association season runs from November 1, 2018, to October 31, 2019, and memberships are now on sale!

We would invite all those interested in joining our very active and friendly group to inquire by visiting our Pro Shop or by calling 480-895-0300.
