Questers Support Railway Days

Jeanette Thomson

The Questers is an international organization which aims to stimulate the appreciation of antiques through study and to encourage the preservation of historical landmarks. The Estrella Chapter has worked to assist the Arizona Railway Museum in its efforts to restore railway cars and engines significant to the opening of the American West to settlement.

Our members will be providing volunteers at the museum’s annual Open House, which will be held Feb. 29. The Estrella Questers will sell raffle tickets for a Grand Canyon Railway trip and provide face-painting for the young and young at heart. The Open House provides an opportunity to view the museum’s entire rolling stock collection as well as many private cars that have been restored. The private cars are available for viewing only this one time each year.

We encourage anyone with an interest in trainspotting to attend the Railway Days fair at 330 E. Ryan Road in Chandler. Admission is free. The Estrella Chapter meets monthly from November through April. Anyone interested in joining the Questers Group is welcome to call Barbara Piper at 480-895-7747.
