It’s the biggest and best pickleball tournament in Sun Lakes! Come to play, or come to watch.

Registration is now open for the Norris Invitational Tournament (NIT). The annual pickleball event is scheduled for March 5-9, 2018, with March 10 saved for a rain-day. This tournament is held at the Cottonwood pickleball courts in Sun Lakes and is open to all Sun Lakes residents. That means that membership in the Sun Lakes Pickleball Club Cottonwood (SLPCC) is not a requirement for entry or attendance. So, take your pick of partners! There are lots of super pickleball players who live right here in Sun Lakes.

The tournament is a round robin/double elimination event with women’s doubles, men’s doubles and mixed doubles. There are five rating categories for the all skill levels through 4.0+, which is a mix of 4.0, 4.5 and 5.0 rated players. Prizes are awarded in each category, certificates good at any Cottonwood or Palo Verde venue. The SLPCC’s NIT event is huge and grows larger every year. The number of this year’s entries is expected to be well over 100 teams, so everyone should get their fill of pickleball fun that week, whether playing or watching.

Register electronically today. Go to our club website at and click on NIT – Tournament Info. You find tabs for the NIT Rules, the Registration Instructions and the Registration Form. Be sure to check them all out and then register and pay online.

If you’re not playing, plan to come and watch and cheer on your neighbors and friends, or just come to watch the great games. It’s always a fun-filled time.
