Reiki Principle Three: I live my life in integrity

Lois Valleau

Reiki students are taught five principles which they are encouraged to weave into their lives. They simply revolve around peace, joy, integrity, kindness and gratitude. Recently, I’ve been contemplating integrity in my life and asked those at our Reiki Circle to share their beliefs about integrity. Here are some of their responses:

“Integrity is something within – you can feel when you are in integrity or not.”

“Integrity is being who you are, wherever you are.”

“I believe it is being honest.”

“You could compare human integrity to the “integrity of a building” which would represent strength. We’re all connected on some level, so integrity is that connectedness.”

“Respect”

“Being truthful”

“Keeping your word – to yourself as well as others”

What does it mean to you to live in your integrity? There are no wrong answers here. Perhaps it is easier to live in integrity if we are aware of the thoughts we think and the words we utter. We may wish to notice if we’re treating others the way we would like to be treated.

I appreciate the Reiki Principles, as they assist me in staying connected to my desire to live by these guidelines.

The Reiki Circle gathers on Tuesday mornings at 9:30 a.m. to share meditation and Reiki in Room A-2 of the Cottonwood courtyard. You are welcome to join us to try Reiki out if it is new for you, or to renew your use of it. A love offering basket is available, and we’re there to share the loving energy of Reiki.

If you’re interested in learning more, classes are offered by Rina or Lois. Reiki I teaches you to give Reiki yourself and others. Reiki II teaches how to deepen your experience of Reiki with the use of symbols and to learn how to send Reiki at a distance. Call Rina Cupples at 480-883-7747 or Lois Valleau at 480-883-6699.
